ROGUE
Subject 337 (JAY)
PERSONALITY Subject 337 is intense, he does his work and he does it well, he carries out orders to the letter. He's incredibly perceptive, with a task-oriented attitude. He also has a dangerous amount of patience, he can wait months to complete his goal, able to blend so well with his mission that no one would possibly believe he's got another agenda. He lives by the commands of his creators, because that's what he's been taught to do. Like most Project MARCO subjects, he does not have the ability of true empathy or sentience in the emotional sense of the word. He naturally feigns it, for the sake of completing his mission. He does not express an ability to suffer, for one has to truly feel to suffer. He is expert at faking many things however, but he often fails to achieve internal self-awareness. It is ingrained in his nature to identify as a greater part of a whole rather than an individual. He does not name himself aside from if it is necessary during a mission, and even then, his internal thoughts always regard himself as subject 337. When it comes to compassion, he has none. Passion isn't really what he has either. What he has is dedication, and a firm mental perception of not being an individual, but rather an important functioning part of the greater machine that is Project MARCO. This isn't mental illness as we see it, this is by design. HISTORY Subject 337 was developed as a sub-project of Project MARCO, a feline engineered for the predominate task of reconnaissance missions, with a secondary role as recovery units. The sub-project is officially named Project MARCO-R, with nine cats being successful products of Project MARCO-R. Subject 337 appears to be the most promising, and the least likely to be subjected to flaws. As a successful product of Project MARCO-R, subject 337 is highly adept at collecting information about its' surroundings, and is capable of using such information to engineer highly complex strategies to achieve its' goal. Subject 337 has proven to possess sufficient stamina to carry out its' missions efficiently, and seems to possess a valuable trait that other Project MARCO-R subjects lack. It has demonstrated the ability to perceive time as a manipulable factor, showing extraordinary patience to achieve its' goal over time. Subject 337 does not resort to rash behavior to counteract time, nor does it allow time to affect it negatively. However, subject 337 exhibits the common fear flaw of Project MARCO subjects. Like most subjects, subject 337 lacks the inherent ability to feel fear. This is however, counter acted by subject 337's ability to perceive threats to its' mission. After much deliberation, the panel has voted and conducted additional evaluations to confirm that subject 337 is the most viable candidate to retrieve or eliminate subject 256. Subject 337 was cleared for release by Dr. [DATA EXPUNGED] and will be tasked with the primary goal of successfully retrieving subject 256, however, subject 337 must resort to elimination if recovery of subject 256 is not possible. If subject 337 fails in this regard, then 337 must be destroyed as well. The panel has set a deadline, and subject 337 must complete its' task within 20 months. Failure to do so will result in remote elimination in order to preserve the confidentiality of Project MARCO. TLDR; Subject 337 must capture or kill subject 256 [ie: Marco] within 20 months or 337 will be destroyed. Powers: Radar (similar to x-ray vision, but also capable of detecting heat signatures, this allows him to see anything within a 20 foot radius of him, even in the dark, so long as it gives off heat) and Mimicry (able to mimic any vocalization, including bird calls and voices of others) Important Weaknesses: Kill Switch (as a result of 256 [Marco's] escape, the humans took the time to develop kill switches for all Project MARCO cats. These are all remotely triggered, via a control panel in the humans' lab, and work by sending violent electric currents to sensors embedded in the skin of subjects, strategically exploding and/or poisoning the vital organs and nervous systems within the cats) and Fearlessness (while this may not seem like a weakness, it is important to note that this can greatly affect subject 337 given that the natural flee instinct does not exist, though this is slightly counter-acted by 337's ability to recognize and deter threats to its' mission.
