Our Links to the Stars (StormClan Ceremony)

Shellstar stretched and pulled herself out of her nest, peering out of her den to check the sky. It was fairly early in the morning, but the rest of her clan would either be up now or soon. It was time for the next ceremony – the one that would ensure their link to StarClan and a way of healing.

She exited her den and made her way to the nearest stream, pausing there to drink. Perhaps she could have a swim later, maybe with Indigonose. That would be later, though. Once her thirst was quenched, she padded to the clearing, looking around and drawing in a deep breath.

"Let all cats old enough to swim gather in the clearing for a clan meeting!"

There was a yowl, and suddenly she was awake. But why? She’d had a very good dream where she was with her mother again…did she really have to be taken from that? Her mother had assured her that they’d be together again, but their time together was very limited.

Oh well…clan life called…

She pulled herself out of her nest and grumpily pulled bits of moss and leaf off her pelt. She may not be able to see them, but she could usually feel them, and it was an annoyance when she was already irritated. Doing her best not to show her mood, though, she padded into the clearing and plopped herself down in front of Shellstar, waiting to see what this was about.
